Shadyl

Shady, is an open world, action video game following the rapper Eminem, in a fictional universe inspired by his music and animated show created in the early 2000's. The game plays similar to a compilation of a third person shooter, and a hack n slash with serious role-playing elements elements.

Gameplay

The gameplay consists of multiple missions or quests that can be completed in succession to further the game's story or ignored to explore the open world map primarily based on Detroit Michigan. Gameplay that can be experienced in the missions range from Melee combat to fight from afar with guns. Vehicles are also a large part of the gameplay acting as part of all the above styles.

Combat

Combat consists of Melee attacks, Firearms and explosives (some stylized as Soulja Arms) to fight enemies. The melee plays similar to a hack and slash like No More Heroes, relying on the timing of multi-button combos and attacks. Firearms, although functioning like the normal third person shooter's mechanics, the player can use an auto-aim feature and a cover system. Should players take damage, their health meter will regenerate at an extremely slow pace until a mission ends, in where the health comes back to 100%. A way around this is the drug mechanic.

The Drug System

The drug mechanic allows the player to receive buffs (ex. Health Regeneration, Damage Shielding, increased strength) from drugs purchased off Dave, the drug dealer. However the system's catch is that the drugs are addictive, if the player takes any drug too many times it's effects will become less effective and eventually cause the player to gradually lose health without taking the drugs (the health always stops at 5%). A player can lose the addiction by stopping their drug intake but in return has to deal with the diminishing health.
